Stephanie Joe
Stephanie Joe is a ballet educator, choreographer & professional dancer with nearly a decade of experience performing across Asia and the US. A former Demi-Soloist with Singapore Ballet, she was featured in both classical and contemporary repertoire, including Cinderella (Janek Schergen), Romeo and Juliet (Choo San Goh), Dark Waves (Natalie Weir), After Happy Ever (Alice Topp) and Quiver (Tim Rushton). Her repertoire also includes Balanchine's Serenade, works by Choo San Goh such as Momentum and In the Glow of the Night & full-length classics like Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, Don Quixote, and The Nutcracker. She toured internationally with the company, including its debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Previously, Stephanie performed soloist and principal roles with Ballet 5:8 in Chicago, touring extensively across the US in the company's original repertoire.
She has taught ballet technique, pointe, and variations for pre-professional students, university dancers, adults, and professionals. Her teaching emphasizes artistry, precision, and musicality, guiding dancers to develop both technical excellence and expressive depth.
A graduate of Duke University with honours (cum laude) in interdisciplinary studies in dance, media, and arts management, Stephanie trained at the Houston Ballet Academy and on scholarship at Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet School (NYC) and also attended the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Program and Boston Ballet's Choreographic Intensive. Her choreography has been presented by Singapore Ballet, Ballet 5:8, and Duke Ballet Company.
